Want dit is God wat julle gewillig en bekwaam maak om sy wil uit te voer (Filippense 2:13)
Vir Paulus is die bron van die mense se goedheid, gehoorsaamheid, vreugde, liefde en geregtigheid God se goedheid, gehoorsaamheid, vreugde, liefde en geregtigheid. In hierdie teks beklemtoon Paulus God se onderskraging en bemagtiging. Hierdie bemagtiging sluit twee aspekte in:
- Die wil om te doen wat God van ons verwag; en
- Die werklike doen van hierdie dinge wat God van ons verwag.
